Ready to do
the work.
Stuck on the logistics.
Coaching that stays with you — through transitions, time zones, and the distance between the people who matter.
Therapy has a map.
Coaching doesn't.
Licensed therapy is bounded by state lines. Your counselor can only practice in states where they hold a license. Coaching isn't bound that way. That's why this practice exists.
Whether you're trying to repair something across time zones, maintain momentum through a move, or hold on to support when the semester ends — there's a form of this work that doesn't reset when you cross a state line.
Priced openly.
No surprises.
Private pay only. No insurance. Rates are posted here because having to ask what things cost shouldn't be part of the decision.
Map.
Tailor.
Every engagement starts with a real conversation — then I build something that fits your situation, not a category. I take time between sessions to think, not just respond.
A first conversation to understand what's actually happening — not to pitch you anything. Bring as much or as little as feels right.
Between sessions, I map the shape of the situation — the people, the patterns, the places it keeps getting stuck.
A plan built for your family's pace, format, and focus. Not what usually works. What works here.
We hadn't had a real conversation in four years. Evan didn't rush us, didn't push a framework — he helped us find a way to talk again, across three time zones.
I keep a small
caseload. On purpose.
I'm a licensed mental health counselor and addiction specialist. I started Miller Coaching Method because I kept meeting people who were ready to do the work and couldn't find anyone who could do it with them — not because of what they were going through, but because of where they lived.
My clinical training shapes how I think and what I notice, even when the practice itself is coaching rather than therapy. I listen, take time between sessions to think it through, and build something specific to the situation — not a template.
I keep a small caseload on purpose. This kind of work takes real attention. I'd rather do it well with fewer people than adequately with more.

Evan holds active LCMHC and LCAS licenses in North Carolina, but operates this practice solely as a coach. The two practices are separate. If you need licensed clinical therapy or addiction counseling in North Carolina, Miller Counseling is the right place.
You've been hoping
this gets better
on its own.
It usually doesn't. A free 15-minute call — no pressure, no commitment. Just an honest conversation about where things stand, and whether this is the right fit.
Coaching is not therapy and is not a substitute for licensed mental-health treatment.
